The founder, son of a Jamaican born Mother, spent many day’s in the kitchen helping to prepare integral Caribbean dishes at the mere age of 10 years old. From preparing , to seasoning, and then to marinating – a passion for Caribbean cuisine is born.
After 20 years of welding, Chef Rob decided to follow his passion. Today, ‘The Caribbean Express ‘ is born. Prior ( Pre-Covid) to its birth : Chef Rob merged with an already established Caribbean restaurant gaining 5 years of insight and experience. Post -Covid the reality of food delivery /access changed and we at The Caribbean Express would accommodate these ever-changing times. Food quality would not be compromised: access and sustainability would continue to be on the forefront of our customer service.
Our store front at 102-39 Dunlop Street E in Barrie faces the Barrie waterfront. It is surrounded by crisp breeze, the sound of the water brushing against the boardwalk, with plenty of fresh air and restoration: a picturesque view to say the least. We provide walk-up, drive-up, pre-orders and Delivery options for all meals and drinks. Come and enjoy our Curry Chicken, Curry Goat, Oxtail, Roti (various) and Veggie options. All food is prepared daily from Monday -Sunday 11am-7pm.
